Vaccine Taskforce facilitates COVID-19 training program in Madang

Friday 10 March 2023

A week-long COVID-19 training program is scheduled for health care workers, lecturers from the Lutheran School of Nursing in Madang and other health institutions in Madang from 20 – 24 March 2023.

This has been made possible following consultative meetings between   Members of the Ministerial Vaccine Taskforce, Director of Public Health, Department of Health and the Madang Provincial Health Authority

Deputy Controller and Executive Director of the Vaccine Taskforce, Dr Esorom Daoni, said the training will be facilitated collaboratively by donor agencies, the National Department of Health, National Control Centre and Madang Provincial Health Authority.

Meantime, the Madang Provincial Health Authority is proactively taking steps forward in normalizing the uptake of COVID-19 vaccine in the province.

The Vaccine Taskforce is integrating its focus in vaccines deployment to ensure that from March onward, routine immunization will also be a key focus for the Vaccine Taskforce as it collaboratively works with other health authorities and donor partners to normalise the uptake of COVID-19 vaccines in Papua New Guinea.

Dr Daoni has further urged Papua New Guineans to get vaccinated, as it is the best way to ensure protection of one’s health and that of their families.
