The National Control Centre has detected one new COVID-19 case in Hela Province in the last 24 hours, ending 12 midday on Tuesday August 10, increasing the total number of cases to 17,807.
A 47-year-old male is the latest positive case, which brings the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Hela to 189 and two deaths.
Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning confirms the country’s COVID-19 cases now stand at 17,807 with 192 known deaths.
The total cumulative recoveries is 17,491 while 149,693 people have tested for COVID-19 to date.
All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 204,113,736 including 530,264 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 4,315,820 including 8,059 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
