Papua New Guinea has recorded 91 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, ending 12 midday on Friday May 21, increasing the total number of cases to 15,133.
The cases were reported in six provinces in which East New Britain reported the highest with 57 cases, followed by West New Britain with 17 new cases, Madang nine; National Capital District four whilst Morobe and Jiwaka reported two cases each.
Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning, said among the 91 cases recorded, there were 58 were males and 33 females.
Their ages range between four to 69 years. At the time of testing, 75 cases were showing symptoms of COVID-19.
He added that the country’s COVID-19 cases now stand at 15,133 with 154 known deaths with 14,108 recoveries.
All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.

Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 165,839,381 including 651,684 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll is at 3,444,420 including 13,032 new deaths in the last 24 hours.
