Three provinces in Papua New Guinea have reported seven new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending 12 midday on Tuesday August 4, bringing the total number of cases to 17,780.
They are Central with two cases, Morobe, four and Enga with 1 case .
Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning, confirmed, there were two males and five females in the recent count, of whom, five were symptomatic while one was hospitalised.
He added, PNG has so far carried out 148,651 COVID-19 tests, of these. 17,787 have been confirmed COVID-19 cases, while 17,447 people have recovered .
Meanwhile, 405 samples are pending laboratory tests.
Globally, a total of 200,217,657 COVID-19 cases have been recorded with 4,258,218 known COVID-19 deaths.
