PNG records five new COVID-19 cases, total cases at 17,282

 Five new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, ending 12 midday on Sunday  4  July, increasing the total number of cases to 17,282.

The cases were reported in Western Highlands with four whilst Jiwaka reported a single case.

 Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning, said  all   the five  males were experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of testing, with ages ranging  between 20 and 50 years.

The  number of  COVID-19 cases now stands at 17,282 with 175 known deaths. All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.

Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 183,839,771 including 438,000 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 3,979,915 including 8,495 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
