Papua New Guinea recorded 13 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending Friday 8 April 2022, bringing the total cumulative number of infections to 43,499.
The 13 new cases were detected in Madang.
In its latest COVID-19 updates, the National Control Centre, has confirmed a total of 42, 768 people have recovered from the virus, while the death toll remains at 643.
The same report has further confirmed that the Delta variant cases remained at 741 while the Omicron variant cases have increased to 375.
In the meantime, the cumulative Covid-19 statistics for the 22 provinces are summarized below::
