A Consignment of personal protective equipment (PPEs) airlifted from China arrived in Port Moresby on Monday, 11 May 2020.
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Patrick Pruaitch, Minister for Health and HIV/AIDS, Jelta Wong , Controller of the State of Emergency , David Manning and Acting Secretary of Health, Dr Paison Dakulala and other government officials, were on hand to witness the arrival of the 45 tonnes of PPEs to fight against the coronavirus (covid-19) from spreading in the country.
Also present at the APEC Terminal to witness the arrival of Air Niugini Boeing 767 with the cargoes, were the Chinese Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, HE. Xue Bing and officials from the Chinese Embassy. Mr Pruaitch extended his gratitude ,on behalf of government and people of Papua New Guinea to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China for the donations.
In response, Ambassador Bing expressed his appreciation to the government and people of Papua New Guinea , for supporting China during the initial outbreak of the coronavirus . He further called for continuous solidarity and cooperation between the China and Papua New Guinea.
