NCD records another COVID-19 case : PNG total at 551

A 40-year-old man is the latest coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case reported in the National Capital District (NCD) in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total COVID-19 confirmed cases for NCD to 331; and 551 for Papua New Guinea.

A resident of Moresby North East electorate, the latest case had fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills and headaches at the time of testing.

To date, 26,620 people have been tested for coronavirus. There are 31 samples with pending laboratory results.

A total of 528 people have recovered from COVID-19 whilst 10 active COVID-19 cases are being isolated. The country’s death from remains at seven.

Globally, since the start of the outbreak, there has been a total 37,099,134 confirmed cases and the death toll stands at 1,056,374.

There was an increase of 353,706 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.

In the Western Pacific region, a total of 15 countries/territories had confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total confirmed cases for the region to 648,125 cases and 14,160 deaths.
