The National Control Centre has reported 33 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 5 December 2021, bringing the total confirmed cases since the outbreak in the country, to 35,571.
Twenty-eight of the cases were reported in Milne Bay, three in the National Capital District and two in East New Britain.
The cumulative figures for the three provinces are: National Capital District , 9248 cases, 9082 recoveries, 102 deaths, 162 delta cases; East New Britain has 2141 cases, 2009 recoveries, 26 deaths, one delta case; Milne Bay has 1201 cases, 1180 recoveries, five deaths, and one delta case.
Statistics for the rest of the provinces remain the same.
The national recovered cases of COVID -19 have increased to 34, 355 whilst death toll stands at 550, where as the Delta variant cases remained at 398.
In the meantime, the total vaccine doses administered so far have increased to 370,401, of which, 279,220 persons have at least received their first dose while 211,421 people have been double-dosed.
NCC further reported that the number of Covid-19 tests conducted in the same period has reached 263,470.
