NCC records 222 new Covid-19 Cases, total infections reach 30.035

The National Control Centre has reported 222 new Covid-19 cases, in the last 24 hours , ending  Monday 1  November 2021, increasing the total number of  infected people in the country  to 30 035.

The new cases were detected across 17 provinces, with the National Capital District, reporting the highest with 64 cases; Madang 46; East Sepik 39; East New Britain 21;  Eastern Highlands 14;  Southern  Highlands 11;  Morobe 7;  Jiwaka 6;  Central 5; Manus 3; Chimbu 2; Western Highlands 2 and Autonomous Region of Bougainville 2.

There were  also 18 new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, with  Western Highlands  recording 12 deaths, West New Britain   3 and Jiwaka 3.

The total number of people  who have recovered from Covid-19  is  27,552, whilst  the death toll has increased to  385.
