Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Timothy Masiu has extended government’s awareness efforts on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) into Western Highlands’ Holy Trinity Teachers College.
Minister Masiu, when addressing Bougainville students, at the Holy Trinity Teachers College in Mt Hagen today, highlighted government’s preparedness and responses to stop the spread of covid 19, and encouraged them to be more aware of what COVID19 is and where to get reliable information from.
He said it is his responsibility, not just as leader for South Bougainville, but for the Aautonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) as a whole, and as Minister responsible for ICT, to create awareness and increase knowledge among the public on government’s responses to fight against covid-19.
Mr Masiu further encourages students to stay positive and focus on their studies.
Minister Masiu described the virus as deadly and thanked everyone for their prayers that the virus is not spreading.
Meanwhile, the following Government’s simple health measures must be complied with: wash your hands with soap and water, maintain physical distancing, sneeze or cough into your elbow, do not touch your face, eyes and nose, and stay home to stop the spread of covid-19
