The Controller of the PNG COVID-19 National Pandemic Response and Police Commissioner David Manning has exempted air service providers to the COVID-19 measures and directives issued by his office today.
Mr Manning stated in the directive issued today that, “All Air Service Providers are provided a two-week exemption, limited to persons who had on or before 10th of March 2021 booked a domestic airline ticket, prior to the requirement that a person must have a valid reason for travelling, per Measure 3.
“For clarity, all passengers who book after 10th of March 2021 must have a valid reason for travel in compliance with the Measures and Direction. For passengers who have a return flight booked on or before 10th March 2021, a grace period to return to their originating port of departure is in place until the 23rd of March 2021.”
The exception comes into immediate effect and continues in force until the 25th of March 2021.
Directive for Air Service Providers can be viewed on this official covid19 website (under Controller Directives section).
