NCC conducts logistics assessment for COVID-19

Friday 13 November 2020

The National Control Centre (NCC) for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has commenced a nationwide assessment of the logistical needs of the health facilities to adequately respond to COVID-19 cases.

The aim of the assessment is to identify the gaps in supplies and logistics and agree on steps to address the needs.

Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning,  said the assessment would involve  seeking views from stakeholders involved in COVID-19 response and visiting health facilities to asses their supply management.

“So far, the logistics team from the NCC has carried out assessment in four provinces, which includes Southern Highlands, Enga, Western Highlands and Jiwaka.

“ It is aimed to complete the nationwide assessment next month and come up with the recommendations on how best assistance can be given to respective provinces,” Mr Manning added.
