Five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, ending Tuesday 19 April 2022, bringing the total infections in Papua New Guinea to 43,669.
Of the new cases, three were recorded in Southern Highlands, and two in the National Capital District.
In its latest COVID-19 updates, the National Control Centre, has further confirmed 42, 973 people have recovered from the virus, while the death toll remains at 649.
According to the statistics, the Delta variant cases still stand at 741 while the Omicron variant cases remain at 375.
In the meantime, the following cumulative Covid-19 statistics for the 22 provinces do not include the delta and omicron variant cases:

Meanwhile, the latest Covid -19 vaccination coverage as of Sunday 10 April, has reported 440,015 vaccine doses being administered, with 322,687 persons receiving at least one dose, while 263,313 people have been fully vaccinated.
The data collected does not include booster vaccinations.
