COVID-19 cases reach 17,804

Papua New Guinea’s COVID-19 cases have reached 17,804, after four new  infections were   recorded in the National Capital District, in the last 24 hours ending 12 midday on Saturday  7 August.

Of the four cases,  three were males  and one female with ages   ranging   between 36  and  60 years.

Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning   said the number of  COVID-19 cases  in the country is  17,804 , and the  death toll  remains at  192.

In the same period,  the  total  number of cumulative recoveries stands at 17,473, while   149,133 people have  so far tested for COVID-19.

All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.

Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 202,346,576 including 683,796 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 4,289,589 including 10,092 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
