Papua New Guinea reported seven new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours ending Tuesday 28 December 2021, bringing the total confirmed cases since the outbreak to 36,137.
In its latest Covid-19 updates, the National Control Centre confirmed the seven new cases were being detected in the Gulf province.
There have been 35,441 recovered cases, 590 deaths and 627 Delta cases reported in the same period.
The number of tests conducted in the same period stands at 274,329.
NCC has also provided a summary of COVID-19 statistics throughout the country as shown below::

It was further highlighted that as of Monday 27 December, a total of 383,407 vaccine doses were administered in the country, with 286,336 persons having received their first dose, while 223,476 people being fully vaccinated.
