Controller issues 11 New Control Measures to contain spread of COVID-19

The Controller of the PNG COVID-19 National Pandemic Response, David Manning today issued 11 new measures, following the surge in COVID-19 cases, to contain the spread of the pandemic throughout the country, and especially within the National Capital District where the majority of the cases are.

The new measures, which come into effect on Tuesday 28 July, 2020 are attached below and include the following:

  1. Measure 1 – Revocation of all previous orders;
  2. Measure 2 – International Travel;
  3. Measure 3 – Domestic Travel;
  4. Measure 4 – Provincial Coordination;
  5. Measure 5 – Burial of Deceased Persons;
  6. Measure 6 – Customs Duties;
  7. Measure 7 – COVID-19 Testing;
  8. Measure 8 – COVID-19 Surveillance & Testing;
  9. Measure 9 – Business & Social;
  10. Measure 10 – Mandatory Mask Wearing in NCD;
  11. Public Transport in NCD and Central Provinces.
