Commissioner Manning visits injured policeman hospital

COMMISSIONER of Police and Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning today visited a young police constable who was shot and wounded by criminals in the Central province over the weekend.

Mr Manning reassured the parents of the policeman who is recovering at the Port Moresby General Hospital that he will do whatever is necessary to assist in the recovery of the young constable.

Constable Timothy Solomon, who is a member of the Central Police Response Unit, was shot and wounded whilst trying to prevent an armed robbery in Kupiano in the Central Province on Sunday, 11 October 2020.

Mr Manning was accompanied by NCD/Central Divisional Commander Assistant Commissioner Anthony Wagambie Junior and PPC Central Chief Inspector Tapp Opai where he presented food items and toiletries to the parents of Constable Solomon.

Mr Solomon thanked Commissioner Manning for the visit which he said was unexpected but highly appreciated.
