FIFTY SEVEN new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours ending 12 midday on Friday 30 July, increasing the total infections to 17,774.
The cases were spread among five provinces with the National Capital District reporting the highest number of 28 cases, followed by Madang with 21, West Sepik four, Morobe three , and East New Britain one.
Controller of the National Pandemic Response, David Manning confirmed that there were 47 males and 10 females in the latest count with ages between 52 and 59 years.
Mr Manning added that only 12 persons had experienced symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of testing.
Mr Manning further highlighted that the total number of COVID-19 cases is 17, 774 with 192 known deaths, while, 17,384 people have recovered from the virus
To date, a total of 147,433 people have tested for COVID-19, with 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB), reporting cases.
Meanwhile the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally has reached 197,293,173 including 643,723 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 4,212,789 including 9,983 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
